FIFA Arab Cup Opening Ceremony - 2021
In Late November 2021 James Thomson and two French puppeteers went to Qatar to rehearse for the Opening Ceremony show. It is unusual for us to paint our animals. The white is so effective in making the puppets stand out and in seperating the creature from the operators and the background. In this case however, together with Production Company Les Petits Français we felt the darker colour would work better due to the projections on the field. The colour of the operators clothing was chosen to blend in with the colour of the mats covering the field.
